Honda’s Amaze, City Emerge as CarDekho Accolade Winners

Honda has been proving its mettle since a long time with some of the classic cars from its portfolio. One such classic winner has been the City sedan. This one car has helped Honda cement its position firmly in the Indian auto industry while being the most loved sedan among the customers. Along with the City sedan, one name that has been the talk of the town is Honda Amaze, the compact sedan which was launched two years back. Recently, both these sedans have won prestigious ‘CarDekho Accolade’, India’s one and only consumer choice awards. Honda Amaze won the title ‘entry level sedan of the year’ while City grabbed the same award in mid-sized sedan category. 


The unique positioning of City in the Indian auto market was described by Mr. Jnaneshwar Sen, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India, as being the backbone of the brand even after so many years. He further added that the brand has been synonymous with City in the country and the car holds an iconic status in the industry. The current 4th generation of the car has been successful in maintaining its number one slot in the segment since its launch. Moreover, it is quite evident that the brand equity of the City is unquestionable and the car continues to be an aspiration for all generations alike. 

The car which is already in its 4th generation is still running strong in the Indian auto market. In fact, it has been the first choice in cars for many generations alike. With Honda starting its new facility in Tapukara unit, the waiting time of the most loved sedan has come down considerably. The City is available in both petrol and diesel variants and with revamped sporty styling, advanced equipment list, enhanced fuel efficiency and premium comfort levels. This enables the sedan to lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Ford Fiesta, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Fluidic Verna, Nissan Sunny as well as Volkswagen Vento in the mid-sized sedan segment.
