Honda has been proving its mettle since a long time with some of the classic cars from its portfolio. One such classic winner has been the City sedan. This one car has helped Honda cement its position firmly in the Indian auto industry while being the most loved sedan among the customers. Along with the City sedan, one name that has been the talk of the town is Honda Amaze, the compact sedan which was launched two years back. Recently, both these sedans have won prestigious ‘CarDekho Accolade’, India’s one and only consumer choice awards. Honda Amaze won the title ‘entry level sedan of the year’ while City grabbed the same award in mid-sized sedan category.

With Honda starting its new facility in Tapukara unit, the waiting time of the most loved sedan has come down considerably. The City is available in both petrol and diesel variants and with revamped sporty styling, advanced equipment list, enhanced fuel efficiency and premium comfort levels. This enables the sedan to lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Ford Fiesta, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Fluidic Verna, Nissan Sunny as well as Volkswagen Vento in the mid-sized sedan segment.

While big rims can definitely look good, a lot of times people go overboard with their choice of wheel sizes. March 2, 2015: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 16,902 units in February 2015 witnessing a growth of 16%.

The company sold 14,543 units in the corresponding month last year.

HCIL also exported a total of 1,119 units in February 2015. HCIL also has registered an overall growth of 44% during April 2014 – Feb 2015 with 166,366 units as against 115,913 units during the corresponding period in FY 2013 -14.

10 Basic Car Care and Maintenance Tips

 

 A car is an important personal investment, but owning one, whether it’s a new car or a used car, takes a lot of hard work. It has to be well taken care of to ensure its reliability and prevent breakdowns. Used cars especially need extra attention as they are more difficult and more expensive to maintain than new cars.

Following a regular maintenance routine will help extend the life of your car as well as keep your car’s performance at its peak. It will also save you a lot of money in repairs. Here are 10 basic car care and maintenance tips to follow.

1. Drive with care
Do not accelerate your engine during start-up as this quickly adds to the wear of the car’s engine. Accelerate slowly when you begin your drive. Shift to neutral at red lights to give the engine some time to rest. Be car considerate and you will be rewarded with longer time between repairs.

2. Wash your car once a week
Washing your car keeps it clean, shiny and free from corrosion. Remember to clean the car interior too. Dirt particles are abrasive while spilled liquids such as sodas and juices can be corrosive. Vacuum your car interior thoroughly and wipe the lenses on the dashboard with a soft damp cloth. Take your mats out and brush or hose them down. This will remove dirt that may otherwise create wear in your mats if they build up. Dry the mats thoroughly in the sun before placing them back in the car.

3. Wax your car too
Waxing your car regularly protects you car’s paint job by slowing oxidation and by creating a barrier against bird droppings and pollution. It also makes the car look good by adding extra shine.

4. Park in the shade
Parking your car in the shade prevents interior damage by UV rays and protects your car’s paint job. If a shaded area is not available, use a car shade to minimise the sun’s impact.

Enriches Honda Amaze and Brio range with addition of AVN grades

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, introduced the new enriched range of Honda Amaze and Honda Brio. The Amaze comes with a new VX(O) grade featuring the Audio-Video Navigation. The new grade will be positioned above the existing VX grade in Manual Transmission in both petrol and diesel. The Brio range has also been expanded by introducing a new VX grade with striking Black Interiors and Audio-Video Navigation.

The enriched Honda Brio and Amaze also feature Advanced White illumination Speedometer with Blue gradation and newly designed Power Foldable ORVMs which enhance the premium looks of the car. The Power Foldable ORVMs and Rear Defogger are now available from SX grade of the Amaze.

The newly introduced Audio Video Navigation system features a large 15.7 cm Touch Screen loaded with maps, satellite-based voice guided navigation, and complete in-car entertainment and connectivity features (DVD/CD, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, i-POD, MP3, FM/AM) that make the user’s travel safe, convenient, smart and fun. The system comes with an integrated Bluetooth communication function that lets the user sync their phone with it and implement functions on screen including dialing, answering, history, address book and Bluetooth music play. The built-in navigation featuring intuitive and suggestive keyboard allows the user to search locations and helps to reach their destination conveniently.

 Announcing the new grades for Amaze and Brio, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The new grades with Audio Video Navigation have been introduced as a result of customer feedback we have received. • Change your oil and oil filter as specified in your manual — more often if your driving is mostly stop-and-go or consists of frequent short trips. A poll of ASE Master Auto Technicians revealed that regular oil and filter changes is one of the most frequently neglected services, yet one that is essential to protect your engine.
• The cooling system should be flushed and refilled as recommended. The level, condition, and concentration of the coolant should be checked periodically. A 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water is usually recommended. Do-It-Yourselfers: Never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled!
